Even on cable, it can be a bit annoying at times. When I was stuck on dial-up at my folks home (because they live just out of the reaches of DSL and even cable television), it really sucked to wait for those pages to load. A slick opening of your site is a nice touch, but not a stupid flash intro that I have to sit through (don't forget a skip button). Just my opinion, as always.
