Yes it does! Guest blogs, can really spice up your site and allow your visitors learn more. Of course, it takes a lot of guts for a site owner to open their blog up to another person, but if the person that is guest posting is knowledgeable in their field, the post itself could prove an invaluable resource. It also takes a lot of courage for the guest blogger to write on another blog. Why? Well, because they are not the usual person dishing out the articles and are not always familiar with the readers.

Guest blogging, can be for both new faces and veterans in any niche community. Each person brings their own experiences to the table in a way the site owner has never fully touched or even considered.

This idea is nothing new in the blogging world. It is how places like Mashable and TechCrunch because so big.

Choosing a guest blogger is not simple. It takes some effort because some people are extremely busy. It takes reminding and being patient to work with the blogger. Remember, they are doing a favor for you to help your site, even if they might be a new face in the community. The way to approach is to open the floor by asking if the person could write a guest post on a certain topic. If you have their attention, you will ask them if they can finish their article within a decent time. Do not say 1 month. Two weeks should do. Some guest bloggers might ask how long you wish their post to be. Always aim between 200 to 500 words. This should not strain them too much, and if they have more to say later on the subject, you can invite them back to guest blog at a future time.

Have you guest blogged at another blog? Or do you have a site that you have invited guest bloggers?

As far as guest blogging is concerned, here's a great site I've had much luck with: http://myblogguest.com/ That's a community of guest bloggers. You can find plenty of great blogs there accepting guest posts as well as authors willing to guest post.

I don't have a niche per sey, I am trying something new with mine soon, where it's one site and some sections will have a blog, like the video games one will have one when it is up for me and others to give their thoughts.

I just started looking into the option to allow others to guest post on my sites. So far I haven't put out any request, just researching it a lot. Looking at the different options like to give the person an account in word press as a contributor or just have them email me the post.
Sounds like most people start with email until the person because a regular guest poster.

I have been doing occasional interviews, but I will be doing guest posts, and I just got into a cool system that actually helps you not just with topics to post, but to carry on the conversations that other bloggers have on their own.. I will be talking about it in a new blog post I will be publishing a in few hours.
