Red light stop, green light go… yellow?
I am aware that other countries have exercised the technology of red-light cameras. Just in case, for those who do not know, those are the cameras placed at various intersections to take pictures of drivers violating the law and running the red light. I originally saw the article featured on Yahoo! and clicked as I know I sometimes pass through the yellow light. The article states that in some cities across the US, some of the yellow lights are being adjusted to show less time than they should.
First off, I did not know that there was a time limit nor even a way to set how long a yellow light could be shown. I thought it was automatic programming after the green light timer ends. Goes to show what I know. Now that I know, and now some of you reading this (as well as the related article I am including below), do we need to go out into our own communities to time the lights? All the money generated from running a red light goes to the state. However, what are we getting back? More red-light cameras? Better highways? Or just a wasted ticket for those last second pass through the light? Better yet, what about those people with license plates so dirty that the violator gets off scott free? Hmm, perhaps we all should dirty our plates up a bit and pass through. Seems a waste of tax dollar already putting a camera up that would probably be messed up in bad weather.

I finally got a couch! :cheering: Yes, it is sad that I have not had a couch since I moved in October 2007, but I am now glad I do. The couch was a real deal: $25!!! I got is at a yard sale. At first I was a bit suspicious on why such a good couch was being sold, but after a few questions, I bought it and the people were even nice enough to help me get it back to my apartment.
Yes, above the couch are the three paintings I did not long ago. I am about to start on a large multi-canvas collage painting with the same color theme of: blue, white and marigold. I am eager to start and complete it, but it will be a HUGE undertaking considering it is several pieces and it takes a couple weeks for even one layer of oil paint to totally dry. :sheepish:
Luis and I had a bit of a tizzy this past weekend over the phone. I had asked him before he moved to his new place that when he gets a home phone for there that he needs to tell me the number so I have an alternative way to get in touch with my son. Well, on Saturday, I tried calling his cell phone 3 different times, and ended up leaving 2 different messages. Even though it was not my visiting weekend, I just wanted to talk to him. I waited and called once again on Sunday right after lunchtime. Again, I only left a message. I told him that if I did not get to speak with my son that I would get the authorities involved. It is my right to speak to my son whenever, just like it is Luis’s right too. When I finally got in touch, he yelled at me to not threaten him and that I had no right. I do have a right. Now, if I did not, if deemed by the court, then that would be different. However, the papers from our divorce, plus the classes for “Children First” program in Illinois that both Luis and I were required to take in order for the divorce to be finalized said that neither him nor I could withhold our child from one another. For all I knew, Luis could have chosen to take off with Angel to some place outside of Illinois and not tell me, possibly even evading my calls. He is required to let me know these type of things. I was extremely upset. I did finally get to talk to Angel and that is what counts, but I was so upset that I cried.
It was the first time in many months that I did as I had suffered a whole night wondering where my son was. Luis said that he and Angel had been at the house all weekend. If I would not have been able to get in contact, I would have probably drove half and hour to go see. It was just very nerve- wracking and Luis decided to be a jerk. :droop:
:chewinggum Sitely news, I have been really busy. Yes, I know this is becoming a vicious cycle, but I am always busy… sometimes busier at times than others. I have set aside a bit of time to get some new stuff up on the site. I just have to load the pages and add the links to the visitor section. In the mean time, feel free to suggest a song that you would like to see made into a ringtone. ALSO, I am looking for link exchanges… maybe a few for my blogroll, but many I am trying to develope my link exchange page more.
I am looking for people interested in wanting to be a part of Pixelled Listings, the webdirectory. I need 5 people. These people would be link checkers and also people who want to promote the website. I would be giving access to the cpanel and list them on the website. It is very important to get this site rolling since it has been in existence for just about 4 years now. It use to have over 700 links before the first script was corrupted. I was not going to manually enter each one, so anyone wanting to join the team there, please use the comments here to alert me of your interest.
I am also looking for a few people wanting to develope Blogrity. Blogrity will be intended to be several things: a gossip site, a webdirectory for bloggers with domains, an awards site, a review site. As a gossip site, it would be 3 to 4 bloggers interviewed a month and featured for their unique contribution to the blogging community. It does not necessarily mean that the blogger is a real celebrity, more like popular in their own niche of the cyber community they are in. As a webdirectory, Blogrity will allow domain only bloggers to list their website. These same bloggers/ websites will be invited to join Blogtopsites as a means for winning a monthly top ad spot on the main page for being #1 that month on the topsite. As an award site, there will be a monthly contest for domain only bloggers to enter for several spots and win a graphic award, and an ad spot. At the end of the year, there would be a Webmaster of the Year award in which Blogrity will give a small monetary prize, graphic award, text and/or banner advertising award, and offer a webhosting package for their domain for a year. Anyone who staffs will be given a front page 88×31 ad spot, and their name in the brief Staff section on the front page as well as a more detailed spot in the actual page dedicated to the staff. Staff are expected to plug the site on their site and on plugsites. If any staff does any beyond the call of duty work, possible free hosting (minus paying for your domain registration) can be negotiated, but this would mean that as a staff member, you must be dedicated to at least 10 hours a month. Eventually if the site accrues enough outside advertisement, then perhaps a percentage of the site’s monthly revenue can be shared. These are ideas I thought of, but I think it would be nice for those who really want to help run the site to get a little something back too. Again, comment if seriously interested.
Nipple Piercings, Rockfest, and more…
What is this world coming to? Yes, of course, that question alone is such a cliché, but it seems to be a frequent question asked. Body piercings are becoming an issue with traveling? Body piercings might be considered in connection with terrorist activity?
That is a load of shit! I have 17 piercings. The same type of piercing in both my own nipples are the same type I wear in my ears. They are surgicial steel captive bead rings. They are far from sharp, I know, I have dealt with them since I was a teen.
The case in particular says that TSA has a right to ask for the piercings to be removed. I have been on several flights since 2001, and even in the past year that it is bogus that the woman from Texas was forced to remove hers. A visual inspection should have been fine. I have NEVER been told to remove my piercings. They do not even register on the detector and I have NEVER had any troubles than having to remove my shoes for inspection.
I am really disappointed with how things are heading with who says that body piercings are in any relation to national security. Someone tell the idiot behind the desk to quit dreaming up Misson Impossible scenarios as it is not going to happen that a piercing is harmful to a plane full of passengers.

On a lighter note, I went to see the movie 21 on Friday night with the guy I have been seeing. He even cooked me a dinner before the movie. Anyway, the movie was great. I am usually confident when a movie has Kevin Spacey is in it. His cynical humor and wit really work well for the characters that are in each movie he has acted. Kate Bosworth does a fairly good job, although she suits the romantic side. I usually am not impressed with her, but she did a good job playing off her role. Our leading man of the movie is Jim Sturgess, a very cute and innocent boy next door who is wickedly intelligent. Attending MIT, he comes in contact eventually with a group of individuals who count cards and make money going to Las Vegas. Jim, or his character, Ben, joins because he needs the money to pay for Harvard. The plot ensues and he goes from being dull to having the time of his life…. that is until he is caught by casino security, Cole Williams, who is played by Laurence Fishburne. If anyone remembers, Laurence was Morpheus in The Matrix Trilogy. Although the movie was a bit more hollywood glammed than perhaps it should have been, it kept my attention throughout the whole 2 hours. I recommend it as a must see, and I am definitely going to be buying this bad boy when it comes out on DVD.
As you can see, I am trying to liven up my blog. It is too plain. I am going to be adding movie reviews to my website. I enjoy watching movies when I can, and I know personally that reading reviews is a must beforehand.

Tonight I am going to the Inaugural Granada Concert here in downtown Mount Vernon, Illinois. There are 11 rock bands to play and I am excited. I am going to try to bring my camera and see if I can take pictures of the concert. I may even try to talk to a few people, possibly bands. I think I would like to try to introduce some bands on my site. I enjoy music and even more so, concerts. Stay tuned. EDIT: Here is my summary of the Granada Rockfest.
New theme at Blondish.net, Waterlily. It is simple, but I am probably going to work on it more as I want the div layers to have the same curve as the main content area. Yes, I really like this format and I will be working more with it. On that note, I will also have more layouts, both for WordPress and for MySpace soon.
By the way, comment below and I will return comments. I KNOW people are enjoying the ringtones, patterns, and more, so be a sweetie and leave me a message.
