Hi Niles- nice to meet you :-) I posted tonight on my blog why I do it...I was inspired both by Sugar Filled Emotions and what I read here. I can't buzz about this on seededbuzz.com because, well, the site seems a little haywire tonight and the page kept loading and loading...but I wanted you to know!

The problem is that I find that there are more effective places for ads. As a professional in the web design business, I know that a person's design can attract or deter people from your site just as much as the content. This includes ads. Making money is fine, but finding the best place for ad placement is probably something the site owner should juggle around to see where it might be the most accepted. Sometimes issuing a site survey might work. I actually plan to sometime next month after I finish the revamp of Blondish.net.

It is important to find a good balance between the two. And if a person is offering content solely to make money, then it just might become obvious to the readers too. Ads will not drive in the traffic. Bring the people in before considering a monetization plan. Without traffic, why bother having ads?

but blondishnet, putting that way anybody will hardly get any clicks and earn anything. Then, what's the use of uglyfying blog with the ads that earns nothing. If you put advertisements they MUST earn for you. Isn't it?
My recent post <a href="http:\/\/www.icttrends.com\/2010\/02\/first-step-of-blogging-how-to-start.html" target="_blank">The First Step of Blogging – How to Start?</a>

I think it really is not the number of ads, but how you place them. If they are many and scattered all over the site, then it becomes a problem. Some of the things that do irk me are blogs that put ads in the middle of posts. I have to scroll more to read the rest. Probably the best place would have been at the end of the article, or before the article.
