Helping You Rock Out Your Site Like A Rockstar!

I was checking my Google Webmaster Tools and found a few errors with my links. I have gone through opening and closing sites. The number of sites are more than a dozen.

However, with this site, I found 9 errors within my site dealing with dead links. So, if you have not used the Google Webmaster, Tools, perhaps you should really consider it. You can learn a lot. Dead links are important to take care of and depending if you blog quite a bit, this will save you the time. The tool tells you where the dead links were found.

Now, it is a no brainer that most know dead links should be removed, but how many really go through older posts to look for old sites that are dead? Even further, do you look for internal pages that you linked that you have either removed or in the case of WordPress, changed the permalink structure? Most of the time external dead links are removed while the internal ones collect dust. Even if you did not have much faith in Page Rank, this is definitely another reason why you should use Google Webmaster Tools.

I added 2 more Computer Desktop Wallpapers to Blondish.net. Both are simple, but I think they are cute. They are offered for download in 3 resolution sizes (800×600, 1024x768x and 1280×1024), and are free to use. If you cut them up and use for graphics, please remember to give credit back.

One wallpaper is called ‘Ice Cream Cone’, and the other is ‘Paper And Markers’. So far Blondish.net offers 5 wallpapers, but since the beginning of February 2009, I have added the majority of them.

If you have any ideas for wallpapers, I can do requests, even fanart for celebrities, but only if they are using my vector method. I will not use the photos and do blends. I know most are girly, but most of the people who do visit Blondish.net are between 14 to 45. If you are a guy visiting, do comment here and make a request. I would like to face the challenge of making other types of graphics too. Again, just in case you missed it, you can view and download these wallpapers in the Wallpaper section.

The vectors tutorials I mentioned on the way will be ready this week. As usual, if you would like me to try to take a stab at creating a tutorial, I would be happy to hear about it.

Also, I may soon be a guest blogger over at WPThoughts. I encourage you to check it out as I think it is a promising site. I answer more han a dozen questions about WordPress in Twitter on a daily basis. Might as well write more about it, right?

As for Blogrity.com, I am thinking of making it a Blog directory. However, it will be using WordPress and submissions will be hand done. I would like to make a page on each site and then the page have stats like Google PR, Alexa Rank, and Technorati rank, Ability to leave a comment about the site and possibly a site rank and maybe editor rating. That is just the beginning of my ideas for it. I am thinking that perhaps the first 500 links would be free and the rest would be $5 submission fee. I just renewed it for its 2nd year and until now, I did not know what I wanted to do. What do you think?

I have had tutorials in the past, usually basic coding, but never on my graphics. I seem to give a lot of graphics, which I have been told time and time again. That is quite okay with me. I have well over 800 different graphics available on this site for download and I am damn proud of each and every one no matter if I recently created them, or created them over five years ago when I first started out. For anyone new to Blondish, or has not visited my site since its early GeoCrappy days, I have offered layouts, background patterns, blinkies (as siggies – signatures), emoticons (smilies) and much more. However, I always get “How did you do that?”

Well, I started with the Flower Vexel. Since I am designing the theme for Rouged, I will be vectoring another picture of myself. However, I have also been writing a tutorial on how to do certain parts like skin, eyes, and hair. Of course, this is all with my style of vectoring.

I hope in the next couple days when revealing each tutorial, that they will be helpful and you use your imagination when creating the vector. Art is always something that each person perceives differently. With vectors, some like smooth looking vectors, while people like myself like some difference between the layers. Of course, with the tutorials I am also going to be introducing a PNGs section of graphics that I made by vectoring.

I was just talking with another on Twitter about WordPress and I had my dashboard open. I noticed at the top that there was an upgrade available for WordPress 2.7.1. I was able to automatically upgrade to 2.7.1 on a click! I was really happy about this as I have been wanting a version of WordPress to do this thing just like you can automatically install plug-ins.

So far, the upgrade is going great. It is awesome that it is the first time I did not have to go into my Cpanel and upgrade via Fantastico.

The update changes from 2.7 to 2.7.1 also include 68 fixes. I encourage you to drop by and check them out. You may have been fighting with issues that were covered. If not, submit a ticket there.

I do want to mention that I will be introducing a second personal blog soon on focuses that I did not find that fit here. I have many interests, but Blondish is a site that I have cultivated more into my projects and online based stuff. I rarely talk about my personal life any more as it seems not to fit well here. The site used will be one I used as a different type of site before. My plan is that I will feature a few articles from there in the sidebar. That site is not necessarily to focus on traffic, but for those whom I have known for some time that I relate to and can share those interests there.

I will be blogging regularly there as well as here at Blondish.net.

As a last note, I have started to blog more with Host Solutions too. I have redone the packages and currently offer 5GB diskspace and 25GB bandwidth for $25 a year. I am very happy with how my server has been. In a couple more months will have been 1 year with the company I leased the server through and no downtime has occurred. I have not done much about updating the Wallpapers section, so I finally got in gear an created a two different ones. They are called Mustang and Lily. Both of the vectors were also suggestions from a few of you readers to make as some liked my other theme for the site and others liked the lily from the vector tutorial I recently revealed. These wallpapers come in three resolution sizes: 800×600, 1024×768, and 1280×1024. You can download them from the Wallpapers section, and yes, THEY ARE FREE.

I will have more wallpapers in the near future, but I also have a long list of things to put on the site. I will even take requests but I will only do celebrity wallpapers using my vectoring. I do not put celebrity photos up anymore here since it seems to be a big no-no because of copyright issues. If you noticed, I also am trying to keep track of how many downloads. It has been a great way to see what you all find useful from my site. As a side update and example: PHPads has been downloaded over 714 times in the past month and PHPurl has been downloaded over 145 times in the past 2 weeks.

Please remember that The Listing is open and replaced 2 different webdirectories. In less than a week, over 50 sites have joined. Also, I hope to see some of you all at Blogtopsite, especially those who were there in the past.

I had an issue this weekend with a power outage, so I used the time on my laptop to put together some graphics. The emoticon section needed some additions as well as sprucing, so I have been diligently working on it.

Here are 5 new sets I have made. These can be used for self hosted shoutboards, and even blogs. I have been getting a lot of requests to make the Rounded smilies in a variety of colors, so I thought I would at least fulfill that request. I have a few other colors to complete, but this should do. It took a lot of time to do all of them.

Throughout the month I have notices the rise in traffic and there are a few I want to thank.

• 1. My Twitter followers that have retweeted or visited about my site of their own accord.
• 2. Charity – She has a couple sites and has been blogging for some time. She has also kept up with my site and I have to give her kudos lately since I blog almost every day. I recommend that you all visit her sites and read what she has. She has a network of sites and a very good person to know. She also has other sites called Gothic Peach and Basically Geeky. Gothic Peach is a site that is one of her personal sites. Basically Geeky is a tech site that involves SEO, gadgets, blogging, and other tech stuff that will help others.

There are a lot of other new things to come in literature, graphics, and articles in February. However there are just a few left in January to reveal too! In fact, I will be blogging quite soon about a vector tutorial. Some of my visitors have been begging me to at least completed one, so I have decided to oblige.
