I am Nile Flores, a sassy web designer and developer - a webmistress. I live in Centralia, Illinois, which is about an hour from St. Louis. I hope I do not disappoint.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Sponsored Tweets. All opinions are 100% mine.
I have blogged about get paid to tweet programs and my recommendations, but I probably should blog about the one I like the best: Sponsored Tweets. Yes, this is a sponsored post, but out of all the paid to tweet sites I have tried out, I can comfortably say this is the best one. It is fair and full disclosure is required on every tweet. Full disclosure can be as simple as putting #ad at the end or within your sponsored tweet. Sponsored Tweets also allows users the option of writing their own tweets based on their sponsors.
You can sign up for sponsored tweets. It is really easy. Just put in your twitter username and basically they (Sponsored Tweets) gather your Twitter stats with their API. Although Sponsored Twitters allows you to set your own price, they have a suggested price which is based on your involvement on Twitter. You can also set the keywords to topics you like to tweet about which will help advertisers find Sponsored Tweeters that will best suit their product.
Sponsored Tweets does payout when you reach $50. I can vouch for this as I have a Sponsored Tweets account and have reached payout several times in the past two months.
Have you tried Sponsored Tweets? What do you think about it? If you have not used Sponsored Tweets before, do you have any questions that I might be able to answer from my own experience with them?

For those who are not aware Charter is a cable service that includes phone, internet, and television packages – or even bundled packages (for those who do not know what that means that you can get all of those services combined.) I use them for my high speed cable internet.
Recently Charter has been giving daily prizes away like laptops, HDTVs, and even Xbox 360s. Now, they have the Camaro Sweepstakes! This is not just any ordinary Camaro, it is the highly sought after 2010 Camaro 2SS. This contest started September 15, 2009 and ends November 26, 2009 at noon. To apply, simply visit charter.com, read the rules of the contest, and register for the sweepstakes. Just so you know, there is no purchase necessary for the contest, so really it does not hurt to just apply.
Also, Charter is giving gift cards in the amount of $100 for 3 services purchases, $50 for 2 services purchased and $25 for 1 service purchased. The gift cards are from various restaurants, and retail businesses for clothing, home, and accessories.
By the way, Charter is now on Facebook and Twitter:

I rarely share videos anymore, but there was an opportunity that came across for a new website that uses videos to convey messages. Red Chair Confessions is a new site that contains a few videos for you to enjoy and think a little. I have embedded one in this for you to look and see for yourself.
I watched all of the available videos and each has its own story, but I believe somewhat similar message. Although the script during each are made to be a bit vague, it was the fact that it had me wondering what the message was suppose to be. Is it that she has an addiction to blogging by video camera? Another video perhaps her confession of being a shopaholic? It is kind of entertaining to watch and guess what exactly she is confessing. Each video is less than 2 minutes, so it does not take long to watch. And for a confession, each segment is carefully put together and I am guessing the message will be different each time.
Actually, I have been motivated to buy a web cam and do some video blogging myself, although the production in it will not be as elaborate as the Red Chair Confessions.
If you watched the video I shared above, what did you think she was confessing?

I have to tell you that I am pretty hard on my computer. I would not be surprised if it broke down. I have humored myself to try to pretend I was in my computer’s footsteps and here is what I came up with. Have some humor with me. How coincidental I found a nice sponsored activity from HP to be able to share that.
Everyday I am on and just busy hustling around opening files, browser windows and programs. Sometimes I have to handle over a dozen open browser windows at a time while braving the weight of several graphic programs and even an FTP client. I am even expected to blare out music too at the same time! I get cussed at if I show even the slightest lag. I am overworked, and underpaid, and I am sure my life expectancy is a lot shorter than the manufacturer intended. If I were a human, I would be in my late 40s, not exactly energetic to keep up with all the new and shiny models, but not too old to be put to pasture. I am dirty and although the mouse, the screen, and the keyboard are well kept, the main part is dusty as can be.
Funny, huh? Well, anyway I recently went to Best Buy and saw HP HDX 16t desktop system which is the reason of this post. I tried it out and it worked smoothly. Actually, I like new computers a great deal – one of those things I have to try to mess up to see how good it can perform. Hewlitt Packard is offering $500 off instantly when you purchase an HP HDX 16t. ($300 coupon code NBN3248 + $200 Instant Rebate.) This is only good through through 8/23 or while supplies last. Also, some restrictions and exclusions may apply.

I ran by this opportunity today and thought I would share it. It is a facebook application by Sears to help college students be more prepared for starting their semester. The application is called CampusReady.
The application has three parts: Gift Getter, Dorm Room Designer, and Roommate Matchup. The Gift Getter section is basically a gift registry so students can pick out what they need and alert their friends and family. The Dorm Room Designer section is where you can virtually decorate your college dorm if you are aware of the size and shape of your room. Lastly, the Roommate Matchup is a great feature if your assigned roommate is also on facebook. It allows you to try to connect with them and find likes or dislikes, regular habits, and much more.
The application is very user-friendly and very helpful. I remember the first time I went to college, there was nothing like this available online or even a gift registry program offline for students getting ready for college. Sears is really reaching out to in the social networking crowd, and I give them kudos for making CampusReady on Facebook. Already the site has over 11,000 fans. If you know anyone going to college, I recommend sending them to CampusReady to try it out.

Computer security is important for everyone! As general of a statement, it is the truth. So many people still complain about their computers being hacked or they had obtained some anti-virus. Problem is, the scary part when I asked them if they had at least an anti-virus program, they said “Oh, I just go around and use trial versions.”
I always wanted to say “Wrong answer!”
Scarier than that, there are some that say they do not have anything!
Antivirus Software is important and trial versions will not cut it. Some trial versions or online scanners do not even remove all or sometimes any of your computer’s viruses. It makes the difference between having a computer or not having the computer, or saving yourself some money. It also saves time from taking it to a computer fix-it store or having to send your computer into the manufacturer.
I would recommend trying VIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware as it has a free trial offer time of 15 days, and if you like it, it is $29.95 to purchase a 1 year subscription. The anti-virus is built by Sunbelt Software and Download.com gave it 5 stars. So, it is worth the shot in trying to keep your PC clean.

You heard it, It’s a Blue World is having a contest and giving out 5 different prizes! The contest is to promote their energy drink BluFrog.
The five prizes are:
1. BluGamer: The Ultimate Gaming Package is a Xbox 360 Elite Gaming System combined with a Rock Band 2 bundle.
2. Happy Blu-Year: Win a New Years Eve trip to NY
3. Blullapalooza: Win a trip to Lolapalloza in Chicago.
4. BluStreak: Win a Richard Petty Racing Experience
5. XtremeBLU: Win a trip to the Winter X Games in Aspen
To apply, you can tweet, blog or comment on It’s A Blue World’s site and you can enter up to 3 times a person. It does not hurt to try it out as the contest cost zilch to enter, only a few moments of your time to plug the contest.
For me, I would love to win a trip to New York for New Year’s Eve. Every year I watch it on MTV and I just think it would be awesome to at least one time participate in such an event. Usually during that time it is hard to get a decent price on a ticket and frankly, even if I can name my own price at some hotel booking sites online, I am not guaranteed that the room would be available for the price I want.
Just thought I would blog about this contest. If you already entered, what prize are you hoping to win?

I found this opportunity for Elearning and thought it might be a great thing to share. Learn.com is a place that allows you to keep on top of your career.
The site works a couple ways. You can take courses or if you are an expert in an area, you can create a course. In fact, if you create a course, Learn.com will give you 70% commission if your course has been taken by other users.
These days, it is about what your experience/skills are rather than your education. With the economy not doing that great, employers are seeking people with experience. The skills from taking Learn.com courses can help you develop the experience you need to get ahead. Some of the courses available are even connected with accredited colleges.
I know that for myself, I am seeking to increase my own skills with business management and my IT skills. I already am enrolled in college, but I think a place like Learn.com can help me develop things that my schooling may not cover. For Learn.com I selected IT and Microsoft Productivity because I already have previous college courses in this field, but I had not finished my certification. These would help eliminate the time spent in class and I could just take the exam when ready. Right now, I do not have the time to sit in a classroom, so this is convenient.
Have you tried Learn.com or a similar service? What did you think of it?
