Get Paid to Hack

Posted by Nile | Posted in News | Posted on 22-04-2009 | 2

I have to admit, when seeing this, it really drew my eyes. There are people out there paid to hack. Now, most people associate hacking with something negative, but there are two sides to it. What I am talking about is companies hiring people to hack in order to tighten their computer security. IT Security is something highly sought after for companies today since most are turning to using computers and the internet to get the job done. In a way you would be one of the people involved in making sure your company is not hacked. You can even study online to be certified for the position, which makes it extremely convenient for people who work and have a family.

EC-Council IClass has classes in Security Fundamentals, Ethical Hacking, Penetration Testing, Computer Forensics, Disaster Recovery, and Secure Programming. All of these subjects are important for those in the tech field as it is always developing.

There are free first look classes that you can check out to see if you would be interested in taking the classes or to set you on the right path, like being a Certified Ethical Hacker. The IT field is one of the highest paying jobs. It would not hurt to give this site a look and see if it is something that you would be interested in, especially if you are still looking for a solid career.

Too Many Bosses, Not Enough Helpers

Posted by Nile | Posted in News | Posted on 22-04-2009 | 1

I am usually not one to rant. It has been months since the last time I have done this. Most of you know by my activities online, that one of the things I enjoy is anime, especially InuYasha. I took on extra help recently on one part of my InuYasha Fanfiction community, my drabble community at LiveJournal. When I mean help, I asked for particular things to be done, but the people involve decided to hop on and take over everything. I did not want that. I wanted to work in a team of people that could agree to do things. I did not get that. The layout messed with and other parts, and it was an argument. Of course, I would like certain things, but the point was missed. All I needed were two people, one to do announcements and one make graphics for that site. However, in return I got grief, backtalk, cussed at, and smeared, and things done to other parts of the site without asking or even a part of their original position.

When I would do something, it was like a push campaign. It was never enough and this was within 2 weeks. Of course it was active, but if people were joining just because they were friends with them and I was apparently stepping down (as they were falsely telling people), then that was the wrong reason to join. It should be active because the theme is something you can work with, not because of their affiliation with another person. That is something I have tried to make sure that is avoided and these gals thought that much of themselves. I have been blamed for being egotistical, but this stuff takes the cake. Who cares if they have won awards for their fanfics. Does it make them money? Does it give them national or international fame? The answer is no. It is just like the articles I write for people who believe gaining a ton of Twitter followers is the way to go.

It is merely entertainment, in the case of this particular incident and that concept was lost along the way. Like those bitter women at work who do nothing but complain about previous marriages gone awry.

So, I removed them from the position and they started a smear campaign. The one gal told people on her LiveJournal blog, that I threatened to remove her writing from my sites when I did not at all. I have not touched them nor will unless she decides to flame the website. It was extremely upsetting since I have had to limit my time online due to outside events, but catch up offline with other things. One thing that I expressed throughout the whole thing was that I was not stepping down and somehow this was presumed.

“Too many bosses in the kitchen and not enough helpers.”

My stepmother recalled that one for me, but cannot remember where or who originally said it, and it fit perfectly.

What I could not believe are the people so into drama and such… crap I had been in the fanfic world longer than those gals, and yet I am the bad guy every time.

Trackle It!

Posted by Nile | Posted in News | Posted on 21-04-2009 | 3

After reading an article over at TechCrunch, there is a site called Trackle that when you sign up and enter your zipcode, among the simple name an email fill out form, you can be notified of several thinks like local crime, sports, stocks, store specials, local events and more.

You can choose to receive a daily digest or messages sent right to your cell phone. It kind of is a way to allow you to choose what you want to view instead of being blasted with everything that you do not want besides what you would normally read.

Right now the site is in beta mode, but I signed up and so far it looks promising as a useful resource for on-the-go information, especially for local stuff. I am not sure how well it would do for the area I live. I am sure there will be a lot more St. Louis and Chicago information rather than southern Illinois news.

I Am On DeviantArt

Posted by Nile | Posted in News | Posted on 18-04-2009 | 2

I have been on DeviantArt for more than 4 years. I have been adding a lot of my fanart and original work lately. If you are a member there, perhaps we can exchange DA watch.

The latest I have put up are my original work for my novel, Shinju no Miko, which I will be re-doing the title to be, The Pearl Priestess. Although I draw the characters with an anime flair, it is not exactly intended for just anime purposes. It was for an illustration. I just happen to be in an anime phase at the moment. ;)

Anyway, hope to see you over there too!

Request A Website Review

Posted by Nile | Posted in News | Posted on 08-04-2009 | 9

I recently finished the website review for DirtyMartini, but noticed the only other reviews I have posted are ones that I have done at Rev.iew.me. I still have to make a badge for Kristin so she can have it for her website.

You can request a review for your website too through Blondish.net or if you are a member of Rev.iew.me, you can request one there.

Claim Your Twitter Profile On Technorati

Posted by Nile | Posted in News | Posted on 30-03-2009 | 3

I was actually writing this blog up when I got a link from another Twitter member ( @denharsh ), that you can claim your Twitter Profile on Technorati.

Of course, for those who have already done it, you can claim your blog by simply adding your URL and Technorati gives you a key (a claim URL) to put on your blog. You can do the same exact thing with your Twitter account. You can simply add your twitter account URL (Example – http://twitter.com/blondishnet) click enter. Technorati will automatically produce a claim URL that you can put in your Twitter account.

You do not have to put it in your profile information. You can simply insert it into your Twitter stream and it will work the same. When you have done that, you can click the submit button in Technorati to claim your Twitter Profile. It is pretty nifty!
