The Art of Blogging – Part 1

I have decided to do a little series called The Art of Blogging. The first part article is a notice in trends over the past decade on how comments have been acquired whether through blog tools (plug-ins) or online resources. The first part is called Trends for Commenting. The article goes over mainly my experience, but I hope to get feedback, so I am also including a poll with this particular blog as I want to get the gist of how people have progressed online in their techniques to acquire blog comments. In the end this blog is to help those who have been searching for the right crowd for their niche.

Blog commenting has become almost as big as a blog post itself. The comments are proof that your visitors have either made an opinion about your site on whether to visit or not in the future, taken something from your site that they thought was valuable, or shared information in case your own may have missed something.

How do you go about attracting visitors to comment?

I have to be honest here, I am the laziest thing on the planet when it comes to commenting. I rarely stray from the five or six sites that I do visit and comment on. :)

    Charity’s last blog post..Go Steelers!

I mostly go around to other sites and comment, but I’m a member of a few message boards, and there’s one in particular where I get plenty of traffic from. Quite a few people subscribed to me, so I pop up in people’s RSS feeds as well. So I don’t do too much–I do just enough to get known, and things fall into place afterward.

Nat Marie’s last blog post..An attempt at visitor content.

  • I like going to other blogs. For ideas and comment exchanges. This is my first time here and you have a fantastic blog :)

Thank you! It is actually in construction mode, but I am a firm believer in trying to keep a site up while working and improving on it.

I also love going to blogs. I often urge people to try to extend the invitation to others to share their blog links to recent posts in order to read. No one will be able to read your blog unless you do a little bit of work to introduce it to the world. :)
