I ran into a conversation with another blogger who gave their theory on Google Page Rank in accordance to their site with little content and it was way off the deep in. They went further to say that they experimented for some time and came to their theory based on those results. However, upon asking for them, I was told that the site was private and so were the results.
For me, when someone responds that way, I say bullshit. Of course, excuse me for my language, but that is probably what some of you might also do.
It is important that if you are seriously conducting an experiment that may interest many people, that you do a thorough job. This does mean that you will have to list the factors that you were looking for, as well as your original hypothesis. Of course, after listing what was considered in the conclusion of the experiment, results are key.
These are what people look for and can see if what they are doing is also not working. Just telling people your opinion with no facts to back it up discredits you, especially if you are trying to build your authority in your niche.
I put together a little graphic stating this.
